Virtual Graduation!:  Congratulations, Class of 2020!Your administrators, teachers, and staff wish that we could join you to celebrate your Commencement. However, given the continuing risk to public health and per the requirements of both the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Health, graduation will be conducted online. Ridgewood High School’s Class of 2020 Commencement Exercises will be held virtually on May 17 at 6 PM. We have worked to create an online experience that preserves our many important traditions and honors the achievements of the Ridgewood High School Class of 2020. Seniors, you will receive your personalized Ridgewood Class of 2020 Celebration Bundle package when you begin the Senior Parade on the evening of May 8th. This package includes everything you need to participate in the ceremony. You’ll also find guidance on how to participate at home, surrounded by your family. If you cannot participate in the parade, your package will be available in the high school office beginning on May 11. Our digital Graduation Ceremony will premiere live on YouTube on May 17 at 6 PM. The link to the ceremony will be available on the Ridgewood website and RHS Facebook page and can also be heard on WTNS. The heart of graduation is taking a moment together, as a community, to celebrate the accomplishments of this new generation. While we will conduct Commencement virtually, we know that many families value a professional photo of their senior in his/her cap and gown. Information on how this tradition will continue will be emailed to seniors and detailed in their Class of 2020 Celebration Bundle.
Again, congratulations to the Class of 2020!!!

Senior Photo Opportunity:  Following the Ridgewood tradition, Mr. Seibert will be available to take a photo of each senior, in cap and gown, holding their diploma. There is also the option of having family members included in the graduate photos. Pictures will be taken in the High School Auditorium.  In accordance with the Ohio Dept. of Health's requirements, social distancing is essential; the graduate and family must remain in their vehicles until they are signaled by a staff member to enter the building. For additional information on this photo opportunity, including the dates and times for each graduates photo click here.

Senior Parade:   Due to the guidelines handed down during this coronavirus pandemic, we cannot perform our anual 'Senior Walk'. Instead will be doing a 'Senior Parade.'  Click Here for additional information on the Senior Parade.

Seniors and Senior Parents/Guardians:  Please have your student check their Ridgewood email for a message from Mrs. Ionno. We want to recognize each of our seniors on social media to pay tribute to this amazing group of kids. Please have your student send Mrs. Ionno an email with their high school activities, plans for after graduation, and favorite memory of Ridgewood High School. We will begin recognizing a few seniors each day until the end of the school year. If you have any questions, you can email myself or Mrs. Ionno or call the high school. We will also keep you posted as we finalize plans for upcoming special events.

Students and Community:  On behalf of Ridgewood Local School Board and our staff we all feel terrible but understand the decision by Governor Dewine to close school for the rest of the year and to continue remote learning. We are especially hurting for the Class of 2020.  Senior class students and families need to know it is ok and validated to feel cheated out of the last few month of the school year.  Our staff will be working diligently to create alternative opportunities for our senior class for milestones such as Senior Awards, Graduation and Prom.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all our students, families and community during this trying time.  Remember we are a strong resilient community that will overcome these obstacles.  We have done it in the past and will continue to grow and get better as a school district and community.   If you need to talk to someone or have questions, please reach out to any staff members as well as myself at 740-545-7639.  Thank you

Congratulations to Our Own Grace Gottwalt!

Grace, a Senior gymnast here at Ridgewood, placed 6th in the District Meet. Competition was fierce with 39 schools participating in the Central District. Grace also received All District Team honors and All Ohio Academics honors.  She will now advance to the State competition. Grace’s dedication to gymnastics is apparent.  With no one else at Ridgewood  interested in gymnatics, a team could not be formed. Grace then started working out with the Tri-Valley gymnastic team, but she continues to compete for Ridgewood.  Congratulations Grace! We couldn’t be prouder!

Ridgewood Opposes Ed Choice Scholarship (Voucher) Program
Ridgewood Superintendant Mike Masloski speaks out about the Ohio Government Ed Choice Scholarship (Voucher) Program

Our School Board on Monday, February 10th, passed a resolution opposing the state of Ohio EdCHOICE Scholarship (Voucher) Program.  This voucher program takes school tax money to pay for private school education.  I (Mike Masloski) plan on providing written and verbal testimony for the committee conference of the General Assembly.  I (Masloski) had the opportunity to voice our displeasure of this voucher program at a press conference at MVESC. This voucher program currently affects Ridgewood Elementary School.  In the press conference, I tell the story of RES.

Ridgewood Local School District Reopening Policy

Ridgewood Local School District is prepared to safely and responsibly deliver high-quality education to students during the upcoming academic year. The district’s reopening plans have been approved by the Ridgewood Local Board of Education.

This webpage will be updated with the most current information regarding the district's Return to Learn Plan. Please note that changes to the plan may still occur should RLSD receive new guidance from state or local officials.

The Three Plans:
  • Traditional Learning Plan = All students attend school five days a week*
  • Blended Learning Plan = All students rotate attendance between traditional learning and remote learning on a predetermined schedule
  • Remote Learning Plan = All students learn remotely five days a week

*Parents can choose to opt-out of the traditional learning plan for the full-time Remote Learning
  • As the district has done since all school buildings closed in March, the district continues to closely follow guidance from Governor DeWine, the Ohio Department of Education, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and local health officials in crafting our plans for the fall. We are committed to taking every precaution possible to ensure the highest level of health and safety for our students, their families and our staff. As such, our plans will closely align with the state’s COVID-19 risk assessment guidelines.

Changes to the learning plans will be guided by the risk assessment guidelines, but specific only to zip codes served by RHSD. In conjunction with the Coshocton County Health Department RHSD will review risk levels in local zip codes daily to maintain the highest levels of health and safety and to determine if adjustments need to be made.

  • Traditional Learning Plan = Level 1 and Level 2 (Based on FHSD attendance area zip code COVID-19 confirmed cases in coordination with local medical and health official guidance.)
  • Blended Learning Plan = Level 3 (Based on FHSD attendance area zip code COVID-19 confirmed cases in coordination with local medical and health official guidance.)

  • Remote Learning Plan =  Level 4  (Based on FHSD attendance area zip code COVID-19 confirmed cases in coordination with local medical and health official guidance.)
