Ridgewood Local Schools invites staff and community members to get behind the wheel during Drive a School Bus Day on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Ridgewood Middle School parking lot.

The event offers a chance to drive a school bus in a safe, controlled environment on school property. Whether you have considered becoming a bus driver or are simply curious about what it feels like to sit in the driver’s seat, we encourage you to give it a try!

Students will not be in session that day because of a scheduled professional development day. The event will take place on school property, allowing participants to experience maneuvering a bus away from public-road traffic.

School bus drivers play an essential role in our district. They help students begin and end each school day safely, build positive relationships, and keep our schools connected to the community. This event offers a firsthand look at an important part of their work and may spark an interest in serving students through school transportation.

A special thank-you goes to Alyssa Hardesty for organizing the event and helping make this opportunity possible for our staff and community.
