Our school buses are an extension of our school buildings, and the same cell phone expectations apply. Students should keep their phones put away during the bus ride and should not photograph or record other students or bus drivers.
We have experienced concerns involving students recording others and creating distractions. Keeping phones put away helps protect student and staff privacy, reduces disruptions and conflicts, and allows students to hear and follow their driver’s directions. Most importantly, it helps our drivers focus on the road and safely transport every child.
Our buses are equipped with cameras, and the district can review footage when concerns arise. Students do not need to use their phones to record incidents; they should report concerns to their driver or school administrator.
We deeply appreciate our bus drivers and the care, patience, and attention they bring to a challenging job each day. They play an essential role in keeping our students safe, and they deserve everyone’s respect and cooperation.
Please help us by reminding your child to keep their phone put away, remain seated, use an appropriate voice level, follow directions, and obey all school bus rules.
Thank you for partnering with us to support our drivers and make every bus ride safe and respectful.
