WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio - Ridgewood Local Schools is proud to recognize Dr. Bryan Raach, Director of Student Services, for two exciting international opportunities highlighting his innovative work with artificial intelligence in education.
Dr. Raach was invited to contribute to The Educators' AI Guide 2027, a new publication featuring real-world case studies from classrooms around the world. The guide, edited by Dan Fitzpatrick and Heather Brown, is scheduled to be released next week on Amazon.
Dr. Raach authored Chapter 19, "Using Student-Created AI to Increase Literacy." The chapter tells the story of Ridgewood's AI for Youth course and how a group of students transformed an innovative idea into a student-created literacy platform called Reading Reimagined.
The project began with seven Ridgewood students who were willing to take a chance on a new course and explore how artificial intelligence could be used to address an educational need. With support and guidance, the students developed a customizable reading platform designed to help improve reading fluency and comprehension. Their work demonstrates what students can accomplish when they are encouraged to think creatively, solve authentic problems, and use technology with purpose.
Dr. Raach has also been invited to participate in the Vibe Panel during the International Back to School AI Summit, which will be livestreamed September 8-9, 2026. The summit will feature educational leaders, innovators, keynote speakers, and workshops focused on the responsible and effective use of artificial intelligence in schools.

These honors provide an international platform for sharing the creativity of Ridgewood students and the district's commitment to preparing young people for a rapidly changing world.
