Mrs. McCoy, 5th grade math teacher and varsity volleyball coach for Ridgewood, achieved her 100th win when our Ridgewood Lady General volleyball team faced off against the Newcomerstown Lady Trojans on Thursday night. This is Mrs. McCoy's 7th year teaching at Ridgewood. She has coached volleyball here for 18 years, with the last 6 years (since 2015 until now) as the head volleyball coach. When asked about her success, she attributes a big part of it to Mr. Dan Smith, who she played for, and now coaches with, at Ridgewood. "Dan has been a great mentor to me... I learned from the best" she said. She also said she was "Blessed to work with the outstanding youth of Ridgewood, talented young ladies and a great coaching staff". She as well wanted to thank the Booster Club, Mr. Masloski and Mr. Smoulder for their continued support and the surprise celebration with the team after Thursday's game.
