BEYOND THE BELL

WHO:

The Gd. 8-12 Beyond the Bell Afterschool Program is made possible through a partnership between the Ridgewood Local School District and the Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center. It is funded through a 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant.

WHAT: *Snacks, *Sm. Group Intervention, *Study Tables, *Credit Flexibility & Recovery/A+ & Plato, *Dual Enrollment Courses/CCP *College & Career Readiness Assistance, *Test Prep, *Mentoring, *Social & Emotional Support *Individual Student Success Plans, *Clubs, *Field Trips, *Family Communication & special events, *Transportation will be provided to designated drop off sites that will be announced on our Beyond the Bell Facebook page.

WHEN:

Beginning Monday, October 9, 2017 & Ending May 17, 2018

  • 2:30 – 2:45 Sign-In & Snacks

  • 2:45 – 3:45 10th Period Activities (Example: Study Tables, Test Prep, College & Career

    Readiness, RHS Yearbook Class, Weightlifting etc.)

  • 3:45 – 4:45 Club Activities (Example: Art Club, Pound Classes and others will be

    announced on our Facebook page.)

  • 2:45 – 5:30 Credit Flex & Recovery, Dual Enrolment Classes, Credential Classes

    A schedule of all activities and events will be posted weekly on Facebook. Check us out and Like Us on our Beyond the Bell Facebook page!

    WHERE:

    Gd. 8 – 12 Beyond the Bell activities will take place at Ridgewood High School. Snacks and sign-in will be completed in the cafeteria. At 2:45 students will be dismissed to their designated activity. (Example: Computer Lab & Classrooms.) All activities are led by certified teachers, paraprofessional and/or board approved volunteers.

    WHY:

    The purpose of Beyond the Bell is to support student learning & development in a safe and supportive environment after school. Studies show that students who regularly attend structured afterschool activities have higher achievement and attendance rates.

    HOW to APPLY:

    Enrollment forms will be mailed to all students in grades 8-10. Enrollment forms will also be distributed in all English classes for Juniors & Seniors. Students attending the Coshocton County Career Center may pick up enrollment forms from Mr. Crilow or Mr. Nagle in the Guidance Office. The grant stipulates we can serve up to 60 students so if applications exceed that number a waiting list will be created.
