After the tour of the Schoonover building, the students were then taken to the college's Grid Lab, which is a virtual reality workshop where the students were able to participate in various virtual reality experiences and games. The students were able to experience; a spacewalk, job simulations, audio shield game, beat saber, a walking virtual experience, and augmented reality. All of this is still under the College of Communications! The students were then treated to a catered lunch provided by Qdoba and the Scripps College of Communications. The students ate with the dean, staff and student workers. The student workers interacted with our students during lunch and then took them to a computer lab where our students received training with Adobe Indesign, which is what the students use for their newspaper here at Ridgewood. We ended the trip by attending the college resource fair, which allowed the students to talk to the different colleges within Ohio University and explore the requirements needed for their specific interests. The students learned quite a lot during their trip and are looking forward to applying the skills they learned to their next paper which will be published later this month.
