Superintendent Mike Masloski's Message to the Community - October 2018
I am truly blessed and honored to serve as Superintendent of Ridgewood Local School District. My wife, Robin, and I decided to make our home in the Ridgewood community in 1999. We are currently raising three children, Kolby (grade 9), Kelley (grade 8) and Kya (grade 7) who attend the Ridgewood School District. The Ridgewood community has been very supportive of my family as well as work experiences as a General. I am truly devoted to the students, staff and community of Ridgewood Local Schools.
Our mission at Ridgewood Local Schools is to provide each student with a comprehensive education to prepare them for the opportunities in an advancing global society. Our goal is to be pro-active with materials, resources, strategies, technology and support in preparing our students for 21st century skills to be college and career ready. We will always seek and be current with the ongoing changes in skills and content in this global society.
We are excited about the upcoming school year. We have been awarded four grants: 21st Century Grant at Ridgewood Middle School and Ridgewood High School, Striving Readers Grant, Ohio Dean Compact Incentive Grant and more recently House Bill 318 School Safety Training Grant. We are offering 17 face to face college courses as well as over 15 online college courses at our high school that students receive dual credit. We have been providing training and support for our teachers to improve student performance through writing and thinking across the curriculum using The Collins Writing Program. We will continue our efforts with collaboration with West Lafayette Police Department to maintain safety and security at our schools. I encourage you to utilize our webpage to explore the many events, activities and news items that are taking place at the Ridgewood Local School District.
